Art enriches the everyday life. The beauty of seeing something through another person's eyes or creating your own vision.
I have always known I wanted to be an artists. As a child I made art out of anything I could get my hands on and my mom kept every piece. I went to Monmouth College to earn my art degree finishing my senior year with a in depth art program looking at all the art forms Chicago had to offer. The above oil pastel drawing was a portrait my brother made of me as I drew at the dining table.
I use many different mediums, such as clay, acrylics, and glass. I believe that working in a single medium is restrictive to my artistic process. Each idea manifests in its own individual style.
One of my biggest inspirations was my mother. She was always creating some art piece. Growing up she wouldn't give me coloring books because she wanted me to come up with my own pictures. Having that encouragement from early on made art a part of my ordinary routine. The above watercolor was created by my mom while she lived in Wyoming.
